Weddings and Speeches

champers.jpgJust got in for a quick change before the evening party for the wedding.

As expected, the wedding went well and looked very smart. Needless to say, Dave looked handsome in his morning suit and his speech went very well. I was so proud of him. I know he was very nervous, but the audience laughed in the right places and were very touched by his nice words. There were a number of speeches, and they all did very well. Jodie looked stunning, I hope their honeymoon goes as well and wish them the best for the future.

Anyhow, best be off to the evening do, will update you with how that goes tomorrow.

Carlo’s Big Day

churchI guess it’s Jodie’s too. The speech is finished and I only hope I can do it justice. Finally got to sleep around 3.30 am and was awake again by 7 so it’s going to be a long day.

I’m sat here onthe bed having just had a shower and a shave and am due to be down our parents to get changed in 30 minutes. I’m getting really nervous now but I’m hoping adrenaline with see me through the next few hours. Carl doesn’t seem that nervous at all and as far as I can tell Jodie is fine.

Went out last night, after the rehearsal, for a drink with Carl, Dad, his friend David and two of the ushers – Richard and Frenchy. Was quite a good way to relax but I had the nagging feeling in the back of my mind that I could have been using the time to try to memorize the speech. Can’t ever remember Carl, Dad and myself going out like that unless it was on holiday or back to the pub after football. Was quite nice in a civilized sort of way.

Kathryn seems to have everything under control her end and I’m sure she’s going to look gorgeous when she arrives – her parents are giving her a lift so we aren’t having to mess about with two cars. Anyway I’d better be off – wish me luck.
